City Wide Clean Up in April

3/20/2024

City wide clean up will be the second and third week of April, starting April 8th and ending April 19th.  All items should be placed in the front by the curb and then call city hall to be placed on the pick-up list.  Items in the alley will not be picked up by the city.  Extra roll-offs will be available at the roll-off site, north of the police station on Lincoln St, for those able to haul items off.  For more information or questions such as items allowed and not allowed for pick up or roll-offs call city hall at 580-726-3100.

Hobart Police Department and Motorola's VB400 body camera

Motorola offered the Hobart Police Department the chance to Beta test the Motorola VB400, a brand-new body camera technology. The Hobart Police Department and FBI were the only departments in the United States to test the product for Motorola.

Dog and Cat Tags

2024 dog and cat tags are now available. Come to City Hall with proof of rabies vaccinations from your VET to register for 2024. Remember registrations expire on the 31st of December every year.

Effective November 20, 2023

City Hall will have a new Credit/Debit Card reader. All Credit/Debit transactions will have a 3.5% fee automatically added by the Credit Card machine company. You can avoid that fee by paying with cash, check or money order. You can also pay online at Hobartok.gov or enroll in Auto draft by coming into City Hall and filling out an application.

Water Conservation / Water Use Restriction

Water use restrictions begin April 1st until October 30th of each year.  Outdoor watering of grass and landscaping is allowed from 7:00p.m. to 9:00a.m. for the following daily schedule of odd and even addresses; odd numbered street addresses water on odd numbered days - even numbered addresses water on even numbered days.  There is no watering between the hours of 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. except what is allowed for new landscaping (see § 52.05).  Violations of the water use restrictions is subject to penalties with fine amounts from $100 up to $500 for each day of violations.

Roll-Off and Limb Disposal Sites

The city has a designated roll-off site and tree limb disposal site, which is available to all Hobart residents.  The roll-off site is available for bulk items only, getting rid of a couch, washer and dryer, mattress, etc.  Roll-offs are not available for cleaning out a house or garage or remodeling/construction materials.  The tree limb disposal site is for tree limbs and brush only.  The limb disposal site is not a landfill.  The sites are available by appointment during city working hours between 8:00am to 11:30am and 1:00pm to 4:00pm depending on the city work schedule.  For appointments call city hall at 580-726-3100 or public works at 580-726-2919.  More information on the site's policy is available at city hall.
